6.4 PV System Maintenance and Operations

PV System Maintenance and Operations is part of the TVET Renewable Energy program’s teacher professional development series

Course material and teacher training resources for the PV System Maintenance and Operations course as part of the TVET Renewable Energy program offering.

This course will allow the learner to identify commonly used electrical test equipment and their purpose. The learner will be able to demonstrate the ability to analyze simple electrical circuits. To be able to describe the effects of performance parameters that are commonly monitored for PV systems and to identify common factors that can cause deviations in system performance. The learner will also be able to describe typical maintenance requirements for PV systems.

Course Outcomes:

  • Determine the performance of each component in a PV system.
  • Read and interpret manufactures data sheets for scheduled maintenance.
  • Demonstrate trouble shooting techniques on PV systems.
  • Demonstrate how to take readings safely from PV systems.
