Belize’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology is one of the winners of the Inter-American Development Bank’s Superheroes Development Initiative. The Ministry Project Execution Unit’s proposal called “Inquiry and Problem-based Learning” was one of four projects chosen from ninety-one proposals from several countries in the Americas. It is geared at improving teachers’ capabilities to teach their students in meaningful ways. The initiative by the IDB is part of its mantra to improve the performance of IDB-financed projects through systematic learning and knowledge-sharing. The winners will participate in a virtual conversation, open to the public, with the President of the IDB, where they will share their stories. In addition, winners will also receive free access to a maximum of two courses per person with IDB and edX certification (Harvard and MIT online educational platform) to support their professional development.
